I present to you a piece that is a bit out of the ordinary for my typical range. But when asked if I would like to try my hand at his romantic Mondays post, I jumped at the chance to challenge myself and write outside of my normal comfort zone for Edward Hotspurs daily prompt. I remember well those Christmas mornings as a child
The days leading up were filled with anticipation
A wide eyed eagerness unmatched and untamed
The joy and comfort abounded through family
While friends surrounded and heightened the elation
Just a different energy to this time of year
An electricity powered by warmth and kindness
Safety and generosity became commonplace
Personal well being became secondary to others
The good will towards fellow man endlessly abundant
I look fondly on those innocent childhood holidays
Realizing now how uniquely special they truly were
Looking around me now, taking stock of current reality
I feel a warmth greater than any roaring fire can provide
Many of the same feelings of my Christmases of youth
Magnified ten fold by the company I now keep

Everyone is right. The change does suit you very well. I told you that light of yours was shining through. Even that Devil of yours is wearing his shades.
I am finding more variety in my writing endeavors and will continue to try to mix things up, but I am sure my fascination and intrigue with the darker, more contemplative side will continue to flourish. The Devil looks good in shades, does he not? lol
Exquisite. Oh my my baby…I nearly fainted. The fervor of desire, almost more than I can bare. My heart is beating so rapidly, I may have to stop, go into the ladies room and make myself release. Ooof!

Welcome!! And it’s true!! Your writing is fabulous, all of it!! I am good. Been really busy, if not with my stuff, family stuff, and the holidays are both joyful and hard without my brother, so that weighs hard on me at times!! I will write you soon .. we are long overdue for a catch up!! XO
We are overdue, but it is understandable. We both lead busy lives. You more so it seems. I can’t wait to catch up with you. Also can’t wait to get back to work on that duet we have getting dusty. LOL. No rush though. Can’t rush perfection. And that is what happened last time we wrote together. At least in my eyes and heart.
